Sire: VICTOR’S VACCOYO. - This full Accoyo son of PPERUVIAN ACCOYO VICTOR is one of North America’s best known herdsires, as he consistently transmits his phenomenal fleece characteristics of deep bold crimp and extreme density to his offspring. He is a renowned sire of show ring champions, both in the United States and Canada. He has produced crias in every one of ARI’s twenty-two natural colors. Outside stud service to VACCOYO has been strictly limited over the past few years, in order to preserve the value of this winning bloodline.
Dam: ELITE SNOWFLAKE. She was imported to Canada from Australia in 1998. She is a daughter of Purrumbete Snowman, one of the original six Accoyo males brought to Australia by the Haldanes to establish the alpaca industy in Australia several years ago. Owned by Pucara Stud, but now deceased, Snowman was a large alpaca, known for his ability to consistently transmit soft handling fleeces to his progeny. There are only a few direct Snowman offspring in North America.
Description: OPAL carries the body style of her famous sire, VACCOYO - she is a large alpaca - solidly built, yet possessing a gentle, kindly personality. OPAL has not been shown, but two of her half-siblings (out of the same dam), have all been champions in the Canadian show circuit. Of course, innumerable VACCOYO progeny have earned championships in both Canada and the USA. So, knowing the reputation on both sides of her pedigree, you can count on OPAL to produce champions for you. Last spring at shearing time, OPAL had the heaviest shear weight of our entire herd. She’s truly an amazing fiber producer! OPAL’s stunning fawn ’07 LIONAL son is TELL THE BREWMASTER. His fleece is so incredibly bright - he absolutely glows in the sunlight!
