| TELL LAZARUS |
DOB: June 15, 2004
Sex: Male
Type: Full Peruvian, Half Accoyo Proven Herdsire
Color: Solid Brown
ARI: #1392784
CLAA: #29774
Sire: MMR Laredo. This full Peruvian fawn macho is a son of JOLIMONT PERUVIAN ALPAMAYO, who was imported from Peru to Canada via Australia, and is recognized as one of Canada's finest herdsires. ALPAMAYO is one of North America’s most prepotent herdsires – his progeny are recognized for superior fleece quality and wonderful fineness. LAREDO, with his 18.9 micron fleece, is one of the top coloured sons that ALPAMAYO has produced.
Dam: Tell Eternity is a VACCOYO daughter who stood at the top of our herd in terms of both quality and color, until we sold her last year. She’s a lovely fawn female, with the style, the fleece, and the correct conformation that have built Tell Tale Farm’s reputation for superior ‘Living Color Genetics’. ETERNITY was such a cute cria that we feature her cria photo on our business cards. She’s always held a special place in our hearts and in our herd – she is an extremely feminine alpaca, with wonderfully soft-handling fleece. ETERNITY was always a wee bit spoiled, as she was Gerry's little darling when she was a baby, and once she became an adult, she still tried to retain her special privileges in the herd. ETERNITY’s first cria (born on Fathers’ Day 2004 – ETERNITY’s ‘thank you’ to Gerry) is LAZARUS. We love him – he’s solid brown, and full Peruvian. Somehow – are we surprised - this little fellow rapidly assumed the responsibility of being Gerry’s “special-privileges-guy” around the farm! Did he learn this from his mama? We’re not sure, but we adore him. ETERNITY’s 2005 and 2006 crias are both females, and they both look identical to LAZARUS, except under the tail! Because she consistently produces a top quality coloured cria each year, ETERNITY is the girl who makes alpacas the World’s Finest Livestock Investment. ETERNITY’s fibre stats at a year and a half old were:
20.4 / 4.5 / 21.9 / 3.1

LAZARUS is a fusion of Canada’s two top Peruvian bloodlines: VACCOYO and ALPAMAYO. For three consecutive years we mated our VACCOYO daughter, TELL ETERNITY, with our ALPAMAYO son, MMR LAREDO. Each year, the cria turned out the same – solid brown full Peruvian –and cute! Cute! CUTE! The firstborn of these “three peas in a pod” was LAZARUS. From the day he was born, we knew he was destined to become a herdsire, with his rich brown colour, dense, crimpy fleece, and such a woolly face we could barely see his eyes. As a youngster, he suffered an injury to his right hip which damaged the hair follicles, destroying their ability to produce pigment. He now bears a small whitish spot where that injury occurred long ago. For this reason, LAZARUS has never been shown in any alpaca shows. Carrying the industry's most powerful genetics, LAZARUS will pass this legacy of strong conformation and outstanding fleece quality down to his crias. In the future, our industry is sure to remain exciting with LAZARUS’s coloured full Peruvian bloodlines contributing to the scene. |
