DOB: June 22, 2002
Type: Half Peruvian Fawn Pregnant Female
ARI #839152
CLAA #25802
Color: Dark Fawn
Sire: PERUVIAN PISTACHIO. He is a solid white full Peruvian son of 3Peruvian El Moustachio, who was imported over ten years ago from Don Julio Barreda's Accoyo Ranch in Peru. EL MOUSTACHIO is still a herdsire of distinction in today's alpaca industry, and he's still siring champions!
Dam: WHITE LIGHTNING BAR. This domestic white female is still a reliable producer, even though she is now an older girl. Several of her granddaughters are well-known in today's industry - - SAGE BAR is a multiple Supreme Show Champion and was highest selling female at the 2007 Alpaca Canada Futurity Select Sale last November in Ontario. Another granddaughter, TELLTALE SUMMER SOLSTICE, recently won Reserve Champion Fawn Female at the 2008 A.L.P.A.C.A. Northlands Spring Show in Edmonton.
GEMINI BAR is a 1/4 Accoyo female with fine fleece (23.8 microns at close to 6 years of age!!!). GEMINI is quite a large girl, with excellent density to her fleece. She has a gentle, relaxed disposition and is easy to handle. GEMINI has now produced four crias. Her first three offspring were sired by KELOWNA's SUNDANCE KID, and each one has earned some of the top prizes in the showring over the past few years:
- GEMINI's 2004 son won Second Place Brown Male at the 2005 Futurity.
- GEMINI's 2005 daughter won First Place Juvenile Brown Female at the 2006 Futurity.
- GEMINI's 2006 daughter, TELLTALE GEORGIANNE, won First Place at the A.L.P.A.C.A. Northlands Spring Show in Edmonton last March, then sold for $17,000 at the Canadian National Alpaca Sale in Red Deer the following month.
With her gentle disposition, her easy-going nature, and her history of producing ribbon-winning daughters, GEMINI will be a wonderful alpaca for either a new or experienced breeder. Newcomers to our industry have a 'steep learning curve', and should establish their herd with healthy, calm alpacas. After a few years, disposition of a particular alpaca may not be a main selection criteria. However, during the early stages of a breeder's alpaca experience, GEMINI will be a wonderful addition to the herd.

Info about GEMINI's service sire: BONHOMME BONHOMME is a beige HOT SHOT son out of a fawn FULL Peruvian VACCOYO daughter. He won First Place in his class of thirteen juvenile males at the 2005 Manitoba Alpaca Show, then won Color Champion at this show. He also won Second Place in his class of eleven Fawn Juvenile Males at the 2005 Canadian National Alpaca Futurity in Red Deer. Histogram April 2007: 21.8/4.5/20.6/3.9 - He should keep the dam's colour and add solid substance of bone to her cria. In addition, his phenomenal fleece architecture will make this a baby worth waiting for!
